Did you know…?

No, this isn’t Part Two of our Trip to Ireland.  I’m working on it.  But I’m also working on laundry, reading Ender’s Game, and things!  But it is coming.  Today I bring you a few “Did you know..?” things that may or may not make your head explode!

1) Today is Slap Your Irritating Coworker Day!

I’m not really sure this is a thing…but they made a Somecard about it and there are rules.  So I guess it could be a thing…

Not a fan of the language…the the idea amuses me.

The Rules for said day are:

* You can only slap one person per hour – no more. 
* You can slap the same person again if they irritate you again in the same day. 
* You are allowed to hold someone down as other coworkers take their turns slapping the irritant. 
* No weapons are allowed…other than going upside somebody’s head with a stapler or a hole-puncher. 
* If questioned by a supervisor [or police, if the supervisor is the irritant], you are allowed to LIE, LIE, LIE! 

Now, study the rules, break out your list of folks that you want to slap the living day lights out of and get to slapping!

So there ya go…I guess.

4) If you happen to be in the Saratoga Springs area this weekend the Head of the Fish is happening.  Don’t know what I’m talking about?  Google it!

5) Troy Night Out – Halloween edition is happening THIS Friday from 5-9pm!  Which means I shall be attending and shopping for the giveaway!  Rumor has it if you dress like a Zombie you can score discounts at local merchants shops!

7) NaNoWriMo is coming….I’m still torn about what to write this year.  Do I take the “easy” way out and write a Fan Fiction?  Or do I try to write another of my own stories?  We shall see I have little time to get it together.  If you are looking for a writing buddy feel free to add me xFunnyFacex is my handle over there.

My sister won the plant. She was pretty damn excited too. Sending me texts that read “YES!!!” and “Wait this thing will come with care instructions right?” Yes, I’m sure it will. But she’s awesome like that.

Actually, my sister is so awesome she’s coming over early on Sunday to help me prep eats for my Thirty-One party. Which is awesome, because while I love to have parties of any kind when it comes to food I suck at prepping it.

Things from The Hat!

Yes, there will be a post about my exciting and much needed weekend away in Marblehead, MA. But I wanted to get this post out there first…

I’m having a giveaway!! Yup you read it right. The first ever giveaway from Gal in the Grey Hat! Since it is my first I’m giving away a lot of my favorite things from some of my favorite shops. Here are the items I’m giving away!

Next up (nope not done yet!) is a very yummy smelling treat from a new favorite shop in Troy. T and J Soaps is always a stop off when I’m in Troy. Theresa always has some new soap or lip balm in the works. Just last night she was working on something extra special…but you’ll have to stop in to find out. So this little give away included a lip balm and handmade lotion bar. The lip balm flavor is Blood Orange and the lotion bar (nice substitute for perfume) scent is Dragon’s Blood.

These smell amazing. I almost kept them for myself!

Last on the list…I told you this was a pretty big giveaway…

This last set of items includes another little something from T and J Soaps (which you can also order online from their etsy shop (here) a bar of soap…honestly once you try her soaps you’ll be hooked!

A pretty print from Design it Together. This place is super fun to visit. They do it all. They are a a multi-platform, eco-friendly printing studio and performance space providing professional printing, plus they do some self-service screen printing via their Print Lab. Of course no gift would be complete without a little tea for your tastebuds. So I’ve got a small tin of loose leaf oolong peach tea in this mix from Enchanté Whole Leaf Teas. This is a sweet spot to visit and enjoy a cup of tea and conversation with friends. Plus the last Friday of the month an open mic poetry night is held. Hot and cold tea is available as well as the always yummy bubble tea!
